Wait Before You Pick

Before using any selector, you should first pull your first 5-star from the Standard Selection.

The game gives a good amount of standard pulls early, so you do not need to waste premium currency that could be saved for limited characters or limited Arcs.

Use your standard pulls first, see what character drops, and only then spend your selectors.

I got my first S-rank character on my 71st pull on the second day.

This matters because selectors are strongest when they fix your account.

If you use them too early, you can easily pick a character and then pull dupe after (I already had such problems with other gacha games).

In most cases, it is better to choose new characters instead of dupes.

A bigger roster gives you more comfort when building teams.

You get more roles, more elements, more team options, and more flexibility for future content.

Dupes can be nice for your favorite character, but they are usually not important enough to beat getting a completely new unit early.

That said, this is still a waifu game.

If you really like one character, you can pick them over any recommendation.

All characters are playable, and the current endgame is not so hard that you must follow a perfect meta route.

Comfort and enjoyment matter, especially if you plan to play the character a lot.

Best Characters to Pick

Best Overall Pick: Sakiri

Sakiri is the best overall selector choice for most accounts.

The main reason is simple: supports usually live longer in the meta than damage dealers.

DPS characters are easier to replace when stronger limited characters release, but good supports often stay useful across many teams.

Sakiri is a standard S-Class support-style character, and early team guides already place her as a strong buffer option for almost every team.

That makes her the safest pick if you do not know what to choose.

Another Strong Pick: Jiuyuan

Jiuyuan is another very good option, especially if you pulled Nanally or if you want to play around Mint.

She has good value in Blossom-focused teams because she improves the Blossom reaction through her passive, Seize the Moment. This passive spawns 1 additional Vita Bud and increases the Vita Bud limit on the field to 6, making her a strong option for the current Blossom teams with Nanally or Mint.

If you already have Sakiri, Jiuyuan becomes one of the best second selector choices.

What About Other Standard Characters?

Outside of Sakiri and Jiuyuan, the other standard characters are closer in value.

Outside of Sakiri and Jiuyuan, the other standard characters are closer in value.

That means you do not need to overthink too much. Choose based on what matters most for your account: favorite design, preferred playstyle, missing roster role, or dupes for your favorite character.

Final Recommendation

For most players, the best selector plan is simple:

Wait for your first standard 5-star before picking.

Then choose based on your account:

    • No Sakiri: pick Sakiri with one selector.
    • Already have Sakiri: Jiuyuan is one of the best next choices.
    • Already have Sakiri + Jiuyuan: choose your favorite, or pick a dupe for the character you like most.

Safest overall advice: try to leave the selector phase with at least one Sakiri.
